FBO Manager

ROLE PURPOSE:

Responsible in overseeing all aspects of the FBO including business development, customer relations, operations, health, safety as well as planning and coordinating activities for the sale and provision of general aviation activities.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

People Accountabilities

  • Develop and embed a culture of customer focus and performance management to ensure high quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Ensure regular and effective communication between other department(s).
  • Ensure that the organisation’s approach to data protection, security and retention complies with best practice and that policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
  •  To develop, continuously improve and implement the organisations approach to risk management.
  • To maintain a positive, appropriate, and professional relationship with all the private aviation staff, partners, and members.

Operational Activities

  • Accountable for increasing market share and revenue, developing, pursuing and closing new sales opportunities from new and existing customers in relation to the portfolio of products and services of the Private Aviation’s FBO.
  • Develop understanding of the market for the FBO including growth opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of competition to including selling points, product offerings and pricing.
  • Remain locally competitive by managing in liaison with Private Aviation’s Team.
  • Develop new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance. Prepare the FBO budget with insight for the capability of and opportunities for the FBO.
  • Accountable for base performance against budget; accountable for base audit results.
  • Oversight of GSE and facility maintenance operations.
  • Establish a culture that promotes safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, monthly safety meetings, training, and documented safety procedures.
  • Establish a culture that promotes customer loyalty by creating an environment of increased employee engagement
  • Regularly interact with customers to promote the FBO and to measure the level of customer satisfaction. Use customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily/weekly/monthly volumes.
  • Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing performance of direct reports which includes mentoring and skill development.
  • Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, Company values, etc.
  • Ensure training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ related experience in airport or ground services organization, with minimum 5 in progressive FBO management.
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in business administration, preferably MBA graduate.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of operational corporate policies and procedures.
  •   Analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership, and service-oriented performance.
  • Operational decision-making.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communicational skills, balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of Airport & Customs procedures.
  • Complete Guest-focused approach.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills.
  • Strong knowledge in the development and implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Strong organizational commitment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
