Unit Sales Manager

Customer Business Development

o Acquire clear understanding of customer agreement elements, deploy these to the sales team to facilitate execution and monitor compliance on monthly basis.

o Spot business building opportunities at the customer and recommend these to business development team in order to address them and build the business further.

o Tailor the sales business plans to customer needs in order to maximize the volume generated by these plans at the customer.

Joint Business Planning

o Lead a successful Joint Business Planning Negotiation that delivers.

o Develop & implement Joint Business plan with the customer in order to achieve joint sales target, share growth and in-store fundamentals.

o Develop strong account penetration with the Head Office to facilitate collaboration and achievement of business results on the field.

o Ensure tracking of sales fundamentals by field team to ensure achievement of desired sales and fundamentals achievement.

Sales Planning and Design

o Liaise internally with business development team to design the head office events plans in order to generate the needed plans to deliver target results.

o Sell the plans to the customer for the initiative deployment plan/customer event re-enforcing the benefits for all parties and make sure the plan is approved on time.

o Ensure the customer’s SKU database is managed properly by the team.

o Ensure the right volume forecast is set for each event so there will be no out of stock or overstock situations.

Coaching and Training

o “Enable” the sales team through adequate coaching, mentoring and training in order to achieve the desired business results and sustain Transmed’s Organizational Excellence and competitive advantage.

o Create a “winning” and “collaborative” environment among the sales team members in order to help make Transmed a “preferred” place to work for.

o “Energize” the sales team and build the adequate motivation levels in order to achieve the desired sales results.

o Build CBD managerial talent among developmental team members in order to ensure continuity, staff loyalty and succession planning.

Agreement Compliance

o Ensure all elements in our Key Business Driver agreement with the customer are applied in every store.

o Communicate all gaps internally to the team and externally to the customer and set the right corrective action plans on both ends.

o Perform the necessary fieldwork to monitor and track the execution.

o Track the shelf shares across all outlets on a monthly basis

Brand Management

o Track & manage the budgets received from the business development team efficiently and effectively to ensure the highest ROI and zero over spending to achieve targets in line with the joint business plan.

Market Intelligence and Competitive Reporting

o Communicate internally any event taken by customer/competitors which can have an impact on our business in order to take required action.

Qualifications

Graduate Degree in Marketing / Management and / or related field
4 – 6 years of experience in FMCG sales (Modern Trade)
A minimum of 2 years managing a team

  1. Role Purpose:

The Business Analyst – Sales will provide support for the customer teams with a view to improve business, systems and commercial opportunities. The role is responsible for developing information driven insights to help identify trends and opportunities and provide solutions based on these insights. The person will extract meaning from complex data relationships in order to enhance the team’s ability to better serve customers and brands.

  1. Accountabilities:

Enable Customer Teams to continuously monitor the business

Business Analyst will enable customer teams to monitor and track the business through internal dashboard with key multifunctional metrics (hit rate, distribution, pending receivables etc…) and externally through true scorecards with joint KPIs agreed on with customers (agreement compliance, shares etc… BA will also enable the team with trainings where needed to develop their knowledge of how to use the tools available.

Enable Better Decision Making

Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the decision making of customer teams, brand teams and senior management by streamlining and analysing the relevant data based on the situation, create summary reports to share findings and build recommendations on the action(s) to be taken and the expected outcome(s) and impact of each on the business results (i.e size of prize).

Address Key Business Questions

Business Analyst will be given a set of business questions related to problems that need to be solved and/or targets that need to be reached, and he/she is expected to lead the required research and analysis using multiple data sources, summarize key findings and trends in data sheets/graphics/presentations to be shared with senior management and recommend the right solution(s) to the business question on hand.

Spot Business & Commercial Opportunities

Business Analyst is responsible to support the customer teams to reach the desired goals captured in the internal dashboards and external scorecards. For that, he/she needs to spot the opportunities that will help us reach the desired goals, work jointly with the customer teams/brand teams to develop and execute the action plan to get there. Business Analyst will own the process from identifying the opportunity to the post-execution sharing of results and outcomes.

Leverage Data & Analytics Capabilities within Suppliers (not supplier)

Business Analyst is required to build strong relationship with his/her counterparts at the supplier level, which enables him/her to leverage the capabilities they have in terms of tools, knowledge, share and reapply of best practices etc… to help him/her in delivering on the key job responsibilities and to develop/grow Transmed capabilities in Data & Analytics function.

Build Relationship with Customers’ Data & Analytics

Business Analyst is expected to build a strong relationship with him/her counterparts at the customer level, which enables him/her to drive joint analysis and action planning with the customers in line with the desired goals captured in the scorecard, thus supporting the customer teams in delivering on their key metrics.

Market, Industry & Competitor Dynamics

Business Analyst has a key role in enabling the customer teams and senior management with key insights about the market, developments in the industry and in competitor activities and strategies, which supports and/or drives necessary action(s) to ensure Transmed continues to have a competitive edge vs competition in the categories we play in and in our go to market. The insights can be gathered through multiple sources of information internally and externally, through market visits, through customer interactions, through online forums etc… and can be shared through a quarterly newsletter, a presentation, a report etc
