In your role, you will support and work closely with the wider Training Solutions engineering community, globally as well as locally, to help develop new products and to further enhance the many training solutions already in service.

Our Opportunity

You will be part of a dynamic team whose focus is to develop a broad portfolio of cutting-edge digital simulation applications, participating in all aspects of the software lifecycle.

Responsible for technically leading the data analytic aspects of the product line, providing expertise and oversight support to a wider multi-disciplinary agile team. You will be responsible for the derivation of software requirements from solution and user requirements, detailing software designs in line with those requirements.

Contribute to solution architectures, write and test code adhering to the design to fulfil the requirements. You will also perform hardware and software integration activities, and peer reviews of project artefacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of data analytics for the digital product line
  • Capture customer requirements, and in the absence of clearly defined specifications, be able to understand the customer’s underlying goals in order propose software requirements
  • As part of a team, undertake the implementation, test and integration of software in line with company processes and to required standards
  • Accurately define and estimate required effort for tasks
  • Contribute to successfully meeting project and product deliverables within schedule and to budget
  • Work closely with IVVQ teams to ensure traceable verification and validation of project requirements

About You

Ideally with an engineering background (either experience or education), we are open to all applicants with solid experience as a Big Data Analyst.

Required Experience

  • Significant Data Analytic software engineering
  • Lead or Technically-responsible role within a development team
  • Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering,
  • Programming experience in C#, Java or C++

Desired Experience

  • Strong statistical mathematics ability
  • Product Line Engineering (PLE)
  • Web-based development experience (e.g. CSS, Javascript, web services, etc.)
  • Modern software deployment (e.g. containerisation, virtualisation, etc.)

Due to the sensitive nature of much of the work, all applicants must be eligible for UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
