Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the Center for Effective School Practices.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: 

  • Provides support for grant-funded research activities including, among others, conducting literature reviews, writing educational materials, compiling fact sheets, performing data entry, basic data analysis, and assisting with preparation of summary materials for reporting purposes.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Requires relevant experience.
  • Requires proficiency in English.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Human subject certification (i.e., CITI certification) is required.
  • Requires a valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle in order to meet business demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in educational settings. Human subject certification (i.e., CITI certification) is required, and, must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to site visits and other relevant training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
Equipment Utilized
  • Desktop or laptop computers.
  • May operate video and audio recording equipment, but prior experience is not needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds.
