Rocky Mountain PBS USA Jobs Description 2022

Rocky Mountain Public Media is looking for a full-time Statewide Engagement Coordinator that will take the lead in supporting statewide engagements and community listening to enhance state-wide reach, impact, and trust. This Statewide Engagement Coordinator will work closely with a team of highly talented and passionate individuals operating through an inclusive lens to support RMPM’s vision of a Colorado where everyone feels seen and heard. The Statewide Engagement Coordinator will also serve as a key partner to the KUVO Jazz team and more. This position will lead in partnership with the DEI (Engagement Team) to create meaningful listening experiences while developing inclusive and community-centered relationships through events and engagements.


  • Actively participates in RMPM’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program. Uses key standards and teachings of DEI training in day-to-day work.
  • Supports the Director of Statewide Events, Engagement and Outreach in the coordination and management of RMPBS events.
  • Serves as the implementer of planning, organizing, and coordinating statewide RMPM events and engagement.
  • Responsible for implementing regional events in various parts of the state-supported by the RMPM Statewide engagement strategies. (Denver, Southern Colorado, Northern Colorado, Western Slope).
  • Assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of statewide RMPBS events.
  • Serves as the single point of contact for all KUVO branded engagements for the DEI (Engagement Team)
  • Works with engagement team to coordinate assets needed for RMPM events, KUVO branded events, and RMPM community listening needs.
  • Communicates with all engagement team members on timelines and purposes engagements to ensure coordination of RMPM engagement efforts/goals on a timely basis to maximize planning and implementation efforts.
  • Develop and supports internal engagement updates on Outreach, Engagement, and Events SharePoint Page.
  • Facilitates Creative systems input for engagement asset ordering and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Contributes to developing copy, communications, and creative ideations for the engagements, events, and community listening.
  • Develops and maintains volunteer partnerships that further the mission of RMPM engagements, community listening, and events.
  • Supports DEI (Engagement Team) efforts at RMPM events, community listening, and more.
  • Works to support DEI (Engagement Team) with brand-specific volunteer opportunities and implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Thrives in remote working environments and has the skillset and ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to others from all backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a community-focused role, with a proven track record of managing multi-dimensional programs with minimal oversight.
  • Experience within the media industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Have a proven track record of developing community relationships and implementing collaborative programs/initiatives.
  • Have experience managing events and vendor relationships.
  • Have experience driving engagement using digital tools and platforms.
  • Excellent computer skills with standard office systems and software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must demonstrate a collaborative, inclusive, team-oriented approach.
  • Experience managing multiple projects is a must.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


  • Job requires travel through the state of Colorado, some evenings, and weekends.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a collaborative and productive team member.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work within established budgets.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Experience working with vendors.
