Under general supervision of the technical or operations manager of Off-Campus Imaging (OCI), incumbent provides immediate supervision to technical and support staff.  Oversees staff schedule and ensures efficient day-to-day operation of the shifts. Incumbent ensures quality assurance of services, competence of staff and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Provides immediate supervision to staff in all areas.

Ensures proper quality and quantity of work done by technical and support staff, prepares daily work assignments, and reassigns personnel as required.

Assures proper completion of records by technologist for billing and recording purposes. Records to include requisitions.

Communicates and coordinates with staff of previous and next shift regarding equipment problems, waiting patients and other like information.

Ensures proper stock of supplies, including IV’s, contrast, saline, linen, and other supplies needed to for operations.

Assists in orientation of all technical and clinical support staff as directed. Provides immediate supervision and assigns work, evaluates performance and ensures on-going training.

Functions as a liaison between physicians and support staff, explaining Department procedures, resolving problems and coordinating activities which affect patient care.  Ensures all information regarding procedural or operational changes in the department are communicated to appropriate personnel.

Implements work schedules and sets work assignments. Responsible for utilizing per-diem employees to fill vacant shifts in order to reduce overtime costs.

Notifies Radiology Department engineers and vendor service personnel of equipment failure.

Ensure that all Department, Hospital, and Joint Commission guidelines are met.

Assist managers with any ongoing projects.Assist with monthly equipment QA testing procedures and assists in establishing new techniques and protocols.

Performs all duties of a technologist as required.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable):

  • Must be certified by the ARRT
  • Must have advanced certification in Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • CT Technologists must hold a CT license in Massachusetts.
  • CPR certification

 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Should possess 3-5 years of related experience including supervisory experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable): Manages daily activities of 9-20 FTE’s depending on modality; all technical and support staff in respective area.

Community Organizer

The Massachusetts General Hospital Dauten Family Center for Bipolar Treatment Innovation (formerly the Bipolar Clinic and Research Program) is seeking applicants for a community organizer position. The aim of the program is to evaluate psychiatric and psychosocial treatments for bipolar disorder, to learn more about the causes and general course of this disorder, and to investigate the pathophysiology of the condition with neuroimaging and other biological markers. The program participates in large-scale, multi-site, NIMH, industry, and privately-sponsored initiatives.

The Community Organizer will be responsible for overseeing patient flow within the Integrative Model for Focused Integrative Team-based Treatment (FITT-BD) clinic and developing collaborative and consultative relationships between the Dauten Center for Bipolar Treatment Innovation (DCBI) clinic and key community stakeholders. The Community organizer will assist the program manager and Associate director of the DCBI in managing patient resources, identifying community needs and barriers to access to care, and developing strategies to meeting those needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;

  • Oversee public relations with the community and maintain referral relationships with key community and mental health organizations.
  • Facilitate and coordinate referral process according to patients’ individualized service plans.
  • Develop list of local and national psychosocial resources for patients needing assistance with housing, benefits, finances, transportation, and other needs.
  • Collaborate with DCBI administrative and clinical staff in updating resource information, database, the website, and other areas of need.
  • Serve as an advocate for target community demographics in involvement in the clinical and research aspects of the clinic.
  • Organize community engagement events and develop new opportunities for community outreach.
  • Document all community outreach and strategic efforts and associated outcomes, including the DCBI website and social media outreach.
  • Carefully document encounters with patients enrolled in the FITT-BD clinic in our electronic data capture system.
  • Attend and participate in interdisciplinary meetings and staff meetings as requested.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask on multiple initiatives
  • Ability to work independently on advanced initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
