Sales Associate

Role Profile
Reporting to the Director of Sales, MEA, the Sales Associate will initially be primarily responsible for the business analysis, administration, and Sales Director support across Middle East & African accounts. An exciting and dynamic development path leading to a broadening of the role selling all FTSE Russell indices (Equity and Fixed Income), data and software to buy and sell-side clients in the Middle East & Africa will likely follow after the candidate has built and proven the relevant experience in an initial 18-24 month period.

The candidate must be relatively experienced and ideally already have worked in a sales led commercial environment within a financial markets background. Experience in buy-side institutional sales, Equities and/or an index company is desirable.

The Sales Associate will be based in London Stock Exchange Group office in Dubai. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate in the early stages of building a successful sales career and to form the necessary experience to do so from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Head Middle East & Africa Sales of FTSE Russell, and working within the diverse Middle East & Africa Sales Team, the individual will be responsible activities across the broad FTSE Russell Sales Territory featuring User Support and specialized campaigns.

Activities and responsibilities will include –

Processing of all sales transactions for the MEA Sales Director working closely with the Sales Administration, Finance and Legal departments
Work with external data vendors to enable permissioning of data for FTSE Russell clients
Regularly report on quantitative and qualitative results of account planning, plan implementation and plan management using company adopted methods
Develop and display a deep knowledge and understanding of FTSE Russell products, packaging, and pricing
Provision of assistance and working with Salesforce as a CRM system, creation and maintenance of Salesforce based reporting, forecasting, support and other capabilities for the Sales Director
Learn and develop a deep understanding of the FTSE Russell product offering and the index provider competitive landscape with a view to building an ongoing analysis and development of own sales skills
Assist with Sales Director needs to maintain detailed CRM history of interaction with prospects and clients in FTSE’s Customer Relationship Management system
Help to maintain accurate cross team aggregate pipeline of sales opportunities and map and monitor potential business attrition and contract cancellations
Co-ordination along with active participation in all MEA Sales Campaigns, ownership & maintenance of standardised group presentation and proposal materials
Co-ordination and participation in FTSE Russell sponsored client events programs across the Middle East & Africa
Actively support FTSE marketing efforts as it relates to new product announcements and existing product upgrades
Efficiently and co-operatively follow all company policies of in-house counsel, finance, and administration
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
Demonstrable relationship management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders across all levels
Show experience in sales with proven track record in sales administration, support and/or execution – an ambition to develop a sales career
Excellent knowledge of, and experience in, the financial markets
Knowledge of Fixed Income and Multi Asset indices
Self-motivating and resilient
Must show the ability to demonstrate and encourage collaboration with peers
Commercially focused and ability to demonstrate urgency, drive and enthusiasm
Ability to manage demanding performance targets
Ability to work to schedules and ad-hoc business-critical asks in a timely manner

This position is responsible for driving account revenue, retention and growth within a corporate and government book of business.

  • Strong understanding of workflows in Corporate Development & Strategy, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Data Science, Corporate Compliance and similar government workflows that utilize financial and risk information and tools.
  • Manage a defined book of business aligned by customer organization type
  • Domain expertise in customer business strategies and the technologies and diverse sets of data solutions required to facilitate them

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Shown account management, sales or marketing experience in a customer-facing environment required

  • At least 5 years of Industry experience within the defined target area in selling financial information/data
