We are looking for a hands-on practicing Project Manager with specific experience in the areas of water, highway and infrastructure drainage and urban drainage systems who will help Jacobs develop and implement water plan meeting client expectations on ongoing and upcoming projects.
About the opportunity

The requisite engineer will be based in the UAE within the Water and Environment team. The team deals with a range of public and private sector clients and provides specialist technical advisory and project management services on water industry projects in the Middle East. Experience of working in a consultancy environment with practical knowledge and experience of current industry standards, with proven administration experience on a variety of water and wastewater programmes and projects taking responsibility for the safe delivery of our projects to meet programme and budget requirements, whilst maintaining high quality standards.
Has successfully delivered, as project manager, a minimum of three Wastewater Treatment Plant projects with a capacity greater than or equal to 100 MLD in GCC region with a revenue between USD 3 million to 15 million.

As a effective candidate you will have a degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s degree or other post graduate qualifications in relevant fields will be added advantage. Professional Registration with appropriate Institution (P.E, ICE, CIWEM, etc.) will be preferred. Clear understanding of FIDIC forms of contracts and contract procurement, understanding the process of preparation of tenders for construction contracts based on FIDIC and/or other forms of conditions of contract. Creating workflow to track and analyze project design deliverables and design with an understanding of project costs including gross margin analysis having mastered each of the three core PC’s areas (cost control, scheduling, estimating), leads team in mitigating financial risks and exposures.

As the Contracts Manager you will have responsibility for leading, monitoring, managing and reporting on all commercial and contractual aspects and propose mitigating actions at the earliest opportunity to the Program Senior Contracts Manager. The position supports the leadership team, where you will have responsibility for the contract and commercial management of your assigned package on the programme.

This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge on cost reporting, including cost forecasting, anticipated final cost, cost of work done, gross billing and current contract value whilst leading the commercial review of contractor delivery of projects and lead valuation progress meetings. You will be assessing contractual implications of issues as they arise and provide direction to the package delivery team; managing claims, advising on all aspects of contractual claims whilst implementing procedures to anticipate, recognize and identify claims as they evolve, manage timely resolution under the change provisions where possible and obtain legal expertise as appropriate. Your key objective is maintaining best practice and preventing any issues or work that doesn’t meet the requirements of the Contract.

As a successful candidate you will have a degree in a Quantity Surveying with experience in contract formation and administration on railway projects. You must be able to demonstrate excellent negotiation and client relationship skills. Experience in the GCC region and MRICS preferred but not essential.
