About the role

Key Specific Accountabilities:

  • Use home furnishing competence to create home furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
  • Actively contribute in the gathering of insights from home visit interviews and translating this knowledge into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way.
  • Contribute to the creation of a Showroom matrix that reflects a wide variety of styles, living situations and price levels to create a good tempo with distinct visual impressions.

IKEA Supply (Middle East) DW – LLC (ISME) is a member of the Inter IKEA Group within the core business Range & Supply. ISME’s main task is to supply goods for the sale to specific Middle Eastern IKEA store owned by the franchisee retailers outside the INGKA Group.

Purpose of Function:

To ensure that import and export business are conducted in compliance with internal and external rules and regulations.

To secure a well-functioning import and export process to support our strategic goal of having products available when customers want it.

Purpose of Job:

Is to secure a compliant, correct and efficient inbound and outbound process into the Dubai Free Trade Zone as well as support the internal and external stakeholders within the Middle East Region with accurate and compliant customs documentation to enable an effective and efficient customs process.

Assignments:

  • Daily Handling of customs relevant information and secure contact and support to-or-from other IKEA units, external service providers and authorities to ensure timely, accurate and compliant inbound and outbound procedures in accordance with applicable to customs rules and regulations.
  • Control and investigate when issues occur to secure compliance in every customs related process according to the applicable legislations.
  • Ensure that our Business Partners in the Middle East countries get all necessary documents in time to secure a compliant, effective and efficient customs clearance processes.
  • Take responsibility of your own development by reaching goals in development plan.
  • Contribute to reach your teams and the department’s goal.
  • Contribute to a good work environment via supporting cross- functionally within the IKEA Supply (Middle East) and other Inter IKEA organizations.
  • Identify and raise process improvements and control weaknesses.
  • Participate and control internal control programs and audit.
  • Participate/lead operational projects, handling of change, co-ordinating cross functional processes.
  • Handle and create reports related to daily tasks and internal controls.

Qualification

Knowledge:

  • Logistics education or at least 3 years of previous experience in import/export operations or logistics.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Solid Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and overall good knowledge in MS Office

About the Role

You are responsible for optimizing sales, profitability and development of the Home Furnishing Business (HFB) to strengthen IKEA’s position as the “Top of the Mind” home furnishing store in the local market.  Your responsibility includes leading showroom co workers, providing support and developing them in order to create a strong and vital daily commercial drive in the showroom while ensuring the presence of the proven IKEA retail system (Tasks of the IKEA store).

Key Specific Accountabilities:

Operational

  • Together with the Logistics department, you ensure that sales forecasts of all products in your HFB are adapted to the sales pattern so that the ordering process of goods leads to a healthy stock situation
  • Phase in and out range continuously during the year
  • Secure that all products in your HFB are displayed according to the merchandising basics (clean, available on picking location, priced and well maintained) during all opening hours

Commercial

  • Ensure that the store is in shape as new and has a strong commercial basics level in the Home furnishing business (HFB) during all opening hours
  • Together with the Com & In team, you secure that the IKEA store provides a commercial range presentation in the home furnishing business and that customers perceive IKEA as a competent home furnishing specialist
  • Focus on Commercial awareness by using and implementing the Commercial Strategy lay out on the sales floor involving the commercial group

Customers

  • Achieve the customer satisfaction goals set by the furniture Sales Manager for your area (measured by IKEA Brand Capital and CSI)
  • Ensure that Showroom area is properly staffed with trained and qualified co workers during all opening hours

People Management and Development

  • Manage the selection, training and development programs for new co-workers
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of the sales co-workers when vacancies arise
  • Ensure working methods, basic action routines and range information are understood and carried out in order to achieve objectives
  • Motivate the sales staff towards achievement of work objectives. Support the team to achieve their objectives by ensuring they understand the company business plan and objectives.
  • Be Train the Trainer for the department and ensure all the co-workers in the department are trained in Product Knowledge, customer service training, Concept training, H&S trainings
  • Act as Payroll administrator and be a super user for the Staff Management System and generate the schedules using the system. Monitor attendance of the sales co-workers and monitor sickness and other absences levels.
  • Provide the Showroom Sales Manager with feedback and their recommendations during the Probationary period reviews and annually reviews for the staff in the customer service department.
  • Coach, communicate and co-ordinate junior members in the team in order to ensure the best possible Customer Service to the customer.
