What would your day look like in this role?
• Work with the business leaders to assess operational risks as well as manage and identify emerging risks and escalate to the
Executive team as necessary;
• Participate in the Risk workshop process, involving senior leaders throughout the organization; discerning any risks that may
interfere with the objectives of the business (social-economic Macro risks, Strategic risks and/or Operational risks)
• Provide advice to business divisions in building and maintaining a risk dashboard to highlight tactical key risk indicators (KRI)
• Manage risk advisory services towards business strategy and major projects/initiatives to add value on risk identification and
controls design
• Actively promote education and conduct training on operational risk management topics, particularly accountability of risk and
control ownership at the business unit level and roles and responsibilities for the 3 Lines of Defense.
• Direct risk and controls consulting assignments managing a team of co-functional professionals to drive value and improve the
successful outcome of enterprise-level initiatives and transformation

Position Requirements

What you will bring to the role:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Finance and/or Process Engineering
• Applicable designations (CPA, CRISC, CIA) or other relevant designations
• 8+ years of relevant enterprise risk experience
• Indepth knowledge of the principles, concepts and practices of risk management in areas of: Enterprise, Operational and/or
others (i.e., Modelling, Credit, Liquidity, etc.)
• Knowledge of other principles, theories, concepts and practices of the risk management field and related corporate governance
• Understanding of how key risks and controls impact the business from an operational, strategic, reputational and financial perspective
• Solid business knowledge in financial institution and/or automotive industries would be desired
• Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, strategic thinking and problem solving skills required
• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues using well developed discretion and judgement
• Knowledge of the standards and practices of change management and project management
• Proven ability to work cohesively is a large and complex risk management and/or internal audit team

Position Responsibility :
  • To manage a portfolio of loan accounts, develop good working relationships with customers and ensure that the quality of portfolio is acceptable to the Bank;
  • To plan and implement marketing strategy with an aim to meet targets set by the Bank via growth of existing portfolio and developing new potential customers;
  • To scrutinize credit requests, make recommendations, negotiate suitable pricing, terms & conditions and prepare good quality credit proposals for submission to the Bank for review and approval;
  • To ensure lending guidelines/procedures are adhered to and documentation is completed;
  • To visit clients and inspect client operations on a regular basis;
  • To submit annual credit reviews, term renewals and all reporting on a timely basis;
  • To monitor and report any suspicious or unusual loan transactions;
  • To ensure identities of clients and loan processes comply with relevant legislation and anti terrorisms requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate degree or higher level of education achievement in relevant fields in Finance, Accounting or business management;
  • 5+ years of work experience in commercial lending and ability to analyze complex lending scenarios; experience in big ticket trade finance under export insurance programs will be a plus;
  • Proven marketing abilities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal with customers, as well as self-motivation to effectively build and enhance portfolios;
  • Effective working knowledge in computer software, i.e. word-processing, spreadsheet;
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and handle difficult situations;
  • Responsible person and plan to add value from a constructive perspective;
  • Canadian college Diploma or higher level of education achievement in relevant fields in Finance, Accounting or business management;
  • At least 3 years of relative working experience in local bank, preferably in the area of credit risk control, underwriting or commercial banking/corporate banking/capital market.
