Position Summary:

USFOR-A will require end user support for automation/Information Technology equipment. This should be for general support for USFOR-A which covers the CJOA. The services will focus on providing customer support for end user devices, servers, and audio visual equipment across three domains for personnel assigned to the CJOA.

Major Job Activities:

Contractor to work for coverage 7 days a week, 72 hours a week and available (on call) 24/7 for the following tasks and requirements:
  • Shall provide information technology related customer support/service.
  • Shall assist users in initial setup and account creation.
  • Shall troubleshoot workstations, printers, audio/visual equipment, server connections, and other auxiliary devices.
  • Shall install software across three domains and process and track related Remedy tickets (or follow-on network trouble ticket systems).
  • Shall troubleshoot and resolve user trouble tickets with local Direct Signal Support Teams (DSST) and signal units.
  • Shall develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all help desks across the CJOA. Shall coordinate network support issues with Information Management Officers (IMO)and provide assistance in troubleshooting unit member network issues.
Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Personal computer, scanner and other standard office equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidate shall have strong customer support/service skills.
  • Candidate shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a helpdesk or information technology customer support role, elevated network, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Information Technology related Bachelor’s degree desired (MIS, Computer Systems, etc.).
  • Candidate shall have the ability to respond to changes in a fluid environment.
  • Candidate shall have basic knowledge of LAN/WAN and operating system principles for installation configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Candidate shall have the ability to provide desktop support, installation, configuration and technical supporting across multiple classified and unclassified platforms.
  • Candidate shall hold and maintain DoD 8570.01M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 1 Certification. This includes baseline certification (i.e. A+ or N+) and computing environment (CE) certificate or certification applicable to the information system supporting.
Working Environment:
  • Candidate must be able to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • The work environment will be 95% indoor and 5% outdoor. The outdoor work environment may exceed temperatures 100° F. Candidate must be able to physically withstand extreme heat.

Job Summary:
Front line customer service desk support, responsible for responding to and resolving computer, printer, and network issues. Customers contact the Service desk in person, by phone, using Remedy or sending emails. This position involves a high degree of quick decision making and detailed task management to ensure all work orders not resolved at the Service Desk are immediately assigned to the appropriate IT groups. Excellent customer service skills are mandatory.
Responsibilities:
  • Primary support and interface with site Information Management Officers (IMO) to ensure all Service Desk resources are utilized in the most efficient manner. Assists the IMO with daily functions of computer, network and software management for the site and all users.
  • Provides immediate response to all customers who come to the Service Desk. Person to person interaction involves troubleshooting, information exchange and help with ticket submission and issues. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Provides telephone customer support for incoming and follow up calls used for initial troubleshooting.
  • May be required to work for 12 hour shifts utilizing Remedy call management software and other tools, to log and manage trouble tickets. Must have the technical ability to accurately determine call routing for trouble tickets that cannot be resolved immediately at the Service Desk.
  • Troubleshoots Microsoft OS issues on Army Gold Master/Universal Gold Master along with setup and Microsoft Office 2007. Troubleshoots all other site authorized software with IMOs and users.
  • Creates logon and email accounts using Microsoft Exchange Server and User Manager. Manages Network Services with Server Manager, Print Queue Management and CISCO VMPS Administration.
  • Works within a small continuous improvement focused team. Tracks and documents work performed to allow accurate reporting of all Service Desk activities. Completes all tasks and assignments as requested by Supervisors and Management.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of one year experience in a Service Desk Environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills are mandatory.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance, US citizenship is required.
Certifications:
This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01-M.
All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. The authorized certifications for this job title are listed as follows:IAT Level I Baseline:
A+ ce, Network+ ce, SSCP.
