Senior Business Development Manager

Job Purpose

Lead and manage a high-performing team to grow and acquire new business and devise compelling solutions to meet client objectives whilst driving revenues and delivering extraordinary levels of customer service. Develop and drive the long-term strategic business development (BD) plan, supported by an annual sales plan, to enable the department to meet targets for revenue growth, profitability and market share. Represent the business in negotiations, evaluating opportunities in line with growth plans of the business unit.
Job Outline:
Plan
– Identify, develop and drive the long term (2-3 year) plan and strategy for BD in the assigned business unit / department to deliver business growth targets and profitability. Ensure alignment between BD strategy and initiatives, division strategy, and dnata Travel group strategy,
– Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business and build and establish strong relationship with customers,
– Work closely with support departments to develop sales strategies to improve marketing and sales performance.
Deploy
– Directly accountable for the achievement of set revenue and profitability targets, as well as for the budgeting and effective utilisation of overhead expenses, manpower resources and capital expenditure,
– Manage the annual budgeting process and monthly reforecasting by developing and maintaining pipeline management tools and statistics,
– Accountable for profitability of all related sales and oversight of the department sales and marketing efforts with clients.
Lead
– Lead the Business Development team, fostering a team-based culture, ensuring positive interactions with other teams within business the unit / division, and amongst other brands within the Emirates Group,
– Champion a culture of open communication, clear direction, accountability, collaboration and performance management to deliver against the one dnata vision mission and values,
– Define performance objectives for direct reports and cascade performance objectives for implementation at all levels in the BD structure,
– When required, develop training and performance improvement plans to address skill set gaps identified within the BD team and ensure hard work and success is appreciated and recognised.
Execute
– Establish and manage networks at the highest levels within relevant stakeholder groups and source markets in order to promote the business,
– Identify new sources of business that present additional revenue earning opportunities and actively participate in the promotion of the business with potential clients as well as the media,
– Manage the day-to-day Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the BD department ensuring the highest possible standards for both customers and staff to maintain and enhance division reputation. Represent the company at local and international trade shows, sales trips and networking events where required,
– Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for clients and internal / external communications,
– Adhere to dnata Travel and Emirates Group governance standards, identify, develop and implement required standards relevant for the BD department,
– Ensure appropriate implementation and effective utilisation of CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) throughout BD team,
– Ensure new customers are onboarded in a timely manner and in line with contractual scope requirements.

Job Purpose

Plan, manage and successfully deliver projects, in compliance with the project practices, standards and processes of the Company, or represent the Department in other large scale business projects within the Group. Ensure that projects meet the defined business requirements and achieve the stipulated business benefits within agreed timescales, cost and scope, leading the project throughout from initiation to closure. Job Outline: – Ensure regular review of project delivery performance. Contribute to improvement of systems, procedures and standards to improve capabilities, assisting the senior management team in continual process, quality and productivity improvement. – Ensure on time, in scope and within budget delivery of all assigned projects. Initiate and manage projects through all stages to ensure that their progress, quality and the outputs in key result areas are consistent with the scope and targets envisaged in the project charter. Where it becomes necessary, take appropriate corrective actions in consultation with the department and support functions, concerned. Ensure on time, in scope and within budget delivery of all assigned projects to ensure that – – Projects are scoped and initiated in collaboration with Internal Stakeholders and other support functions, agreeing project objectives, desired outcomes, milestones, roles and responsibilities, with the department heads which are encapsulated with appropriate service levels in agreed project charters. – Projects are planned professionally and are then reflected in the Project register/ Planning tool of the department. The plan must be realistic, maintained and properly resourced – Project stakeholders are managed properly for the duration of the project to achieve smooth implementation and quick realisation of benefits – Delivery is within the approved timeframe and within agreed cost , driving down costs wherever possible and targeting early delivery – Functional solutions meet agreed requirements and customer expectations, are maintainable and meet documented and agreed criteria. – System solutions are adequately planned, designed in line with corporate standards and tested, covering all risk aspects – Risks and issues are assessed and mitigation/ management strategies are designed and agreed with respective stakeholders prior to implementation. – Timely, appropriate and accurate project information and reporting are provided to the Project Sponsor and stakeholders and/or steering board members, as well as to other departments which may be affected by the project outcomes – An implementation and training concept is developed and organised as required by and agreed with the relevant Department or Business unit on a network wide basis. – Conflict or disagreements arising from issues or concerns connected with projects are managed appropriately to resolve issues and concerns and mitigate risks – Ongoing system support is designed and implemented with the project ‘go live’ phase. – Ensure that business requirements are fully analysed, challenged, understood and documented so that user requirements and defined solutions meet those business needs, identifying alternatives and added value wherever possible. – Initiate and manage projects through all stages to ensure that their progress, quality and the outputs in key result areas are consistent with the scope and targets envisaged in the project charter. Where it becomes necessary, take appropriate corrective actions in consultation with the department and support functions, concerned. – Manage the motivation, development, productivity and performance of assigned project team members to achieve the most effective, productive and cost effective quality solution. Identify developmental requirements, coaching team members when necessary to ensure they are equipped to fulfil project deliverables and ensuring that team performance reviews are completed through the PM Review performance management tool. – Lead a team of business users, representatives from other departments of the Emirates Group and 3rd party service providers to deliver larger, complex Department owned projects or provide dedicated support to other larger business projects within the Group.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Experience in a leading project management function would be advantageous Knowledge/skills: – Expert Knowledge of airline industry standards, and core business functions and systems preferred. – Should be practical and innovative with the ability to manage cross-functional teams at a multinational level. – Knowledge of a variety of project management methodologies and practices. – Demonstratable exposure to: – Project management – Change implementation planning and management – Systems Development Management – Project Management tools – Application support f.
