What you’ll be doing

At Chalhoub, we share leading brands with the world. As a category manager you will be responsible for defining and driving the “offer” and purchasing strategy for different products categories and brands. You will also define the action plan for the categories, merchandising, promotional activities, prices and negotiations.

Develop the business plan of the Department in line with the strategic objectives of the Brand
Formulate and communicate the Department performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and alignment towards strategic objectives
Develop the Department policies and procedures in order to ensure the fulfilment of organizational requirements
Oversee the operations of the Department, provide expertise, encourage teamwork and facilitate related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in contribution
Monitor the yearly budget of the Department and control expenditure to ensure optimal use
Define the offer strategy for the stores in the designated area in alignment with the brand’s values
Validate the strategy with the GM/Captain
Negotiate annual commercial agreements and the commercialization of advertising spaces with the brands
Drive the development of the margin and the budgetary objectives
Category Performance Management:

Benchmark current performance vs. the competition and the peer market
Create different tools to improve the categories’ performance
Manage segmentation, seasonal activities, action plans for the stores; follow up on the results
Manage the existing catalogue, optimising on the mix at the points of sale
Identify the products with potential and research new products
Develop a wide range of services (skincare – make up – lessons – etc.) to be adapted to each category
Prepare the periodic category reviews
Supplier Relations:

Create partnerships with the brands and follow up on the results
Handle the negotiations with existing and potential partners
Optimize the merchandising plan and the allocation of space vs. the volume of margin
Develop new merchandising aids, tools, and new concepts
Coordinate new openings (Brands/Merchandising/Promotions) or refitting of sales areas
Register newly imported brands to the market, in compliance with the regulations of each country
Benchmark current pricing vs. the competition and the peer market
Recommend adjustments on the pricing policy to the GM/Captain
Handle the production of the annual calendar for the brands promotions, launches, etc.
Assess the requirements and coordinate with relevant internal/external stakeholders (Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Suppliers, Category Managers and Logistics)
Negotiate with suppliers for the stock returns (discontinued and slow movers)
Assign individual objectives for employee performance management purposes, manage performance, empower staff, and provide formal and informal feedback in order to support professional development and maximize performance
What you’ll need to succeed

Minimum 5 years of category management and buying experience
Background in beauty and makeup
Passion and love for beauty products
Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
Excellent English communication skills

What you’ll be doing

You will support the Chief Marketing and Customer Office (CMCO) in their leadership function, from an administration, project management, internal events and partnerships perspective. Working with stakeholders both inside and outside the Group, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the CMCO’s calendar, clarifying meeting agendas and actions
  • Summarising emails and documents and proposing suitable responses
  • Working with the travel department on bookings, schedules, and logistics
  • Organising events both online and offline and managing attendees
  • Compiling news and trends reports, also leveraging internal teams

What you’ll be doing

Our customer service executive is responsible for managing Purchase and Sales Orders and maintaining prices in the system. In addition, our Supply Coordinator is responsible for flagging all stock and barcode discrepancies and managing remedial actions.

Purchase Orders and Transfers:

  • Process all purchase orders in transactional CORE system
  • Create correct system transfers to this movement (warehouse to store, intra-stores, intercountry,
  • return to vendor, temporarily stock loan)
  • Follow-up with suppliers and update system on back-orders
  • Maintain up-to-date order log at all time
  • Support brand demands ensuring immediate actions and remedies to merchandise movement

  • Initiate basic re-orders if required to maintain coverage

Sales Order Processing:

  • Receive sales orders and register on control listing
  • Ensure all customer shipping requirements are completed
  • Issue relevant documentation and follow-up with clients for the shipping of goods
  • Generate invoice after completion of sales order
  • Prepare credit note and other documents as and when required
  • Coordinate between staff from warehouse, office and sales for any clarification for accurate sales order processing
  • Perform data entries of required information to produce KPI’s and monthly reporting figures
  • Pricing Management and Promotions:
  • Ensure that maintenance of prices (price markdowns, promotions in stores) is performed correctly and on time in the system
  • Escalate issues in price maintenance (e.g. promotions)
  • Follow and ensure timely update of lists/SKU in the system for promotions, special marketing events and discount period
  • Ensure replenishment requests are timely uploaded while ensuring correct stock request in system
  • during peak period to maximize sales
  • Coordination with Stores for barcode and sticker discrepancies

Drop Shipment:

  • Raise purchase orders for shipments from supplier directly to the customer

Inbound stock variance

  • Identify reasons for discrepancies in invoice matching in system (price or quantity), escalate to RDBS
  • Manager to take a decision on resolution if needed and introduce new invoices in system for resolution of discrepancies
  • Raise replacement purchase orders or debit / credit notes in the system as per the instructions from RDBS Manager
  • Resolve defects at the warehouse side by analyzing the available data and using internal tools, proposing corrective actions to prevent future similar problems that might appear at the supply chain level, Stock Readiness
  • Coordinate with store operations for all transaction clean-up/closure in system as a pre-requisite of store control team

We are looking for BI Manager in our Group Finance team, someone who loves working with data and wants to make an impact through strategic business partnering. You will have the opportunity to define, project manage & build data-driven solutions to drive investment decisions for the wider Finance, Operation and Commercial teams.
This key member of our team will provide value as the data and analytics expert, while interfacing with senior leadership and influencing the continued success of Finance.
You will partner with cross-functional teams and the wider Finance team to build and deliver accurate visual representations of key insights, which will tell accurate and thought-provoking stories.
The ideal candidate will have a functional pedigree in financial services, combined with strong analytical, communication and technical skills, with a focus towards growth and operational efficiency.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Strategic:
  • Working collaboratively with the Group Data and Analytics Team, develop the data transformation plan of the Finance function in line with its strategic objectives
  • Formulate and communicate ‘Business Intelligence’ performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and alignment towards strategic objectives

2. Managerial:

  • Oversee the operations of the Business Intelligence, provide expertise, encourage teamwork and facilitate related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in contribution
  • Monitor the yearly budget of the Department and control expenditure to ensure optimal use

3. Operational:

  • Harness multi-source data and apply analytics to extract useful business metrics & insights
  • Explore, extract, analyze and craft data-driven narratives through compelling visualizations using dashboard and BI softwares, such as Power-BI, Looker and other internal front-end systems
  • Review and establish trackable KPIs, identify correlation/causality relationships and provide continuous feedback on business performance
  • Partner with the FP&A team to produce accurate, timely and meaningful management dashboards
  • Build cross-functional momentum for operational improvements and partner effectively with other teams
  • Manage and maintain ongoing dashboards and views, and overviewing the ETL process (Extract, Transform and Load) from various sources

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in product management or technical consulting
  • Behavior/predictive analysis and/or data analytics development experience.
  • Plus: Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline. MBA, Master-in-Finance or CAs, CIMA, CFAs or any relevant field.
  • Relevant Certification such as Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI).
  • Entrepreneurial / pioneering spirit with the vision and energy to identify and seize opportunities for innovation
  • Extensive work experience in analytically demanding financial or strategic services role in Consulting, Corporate Finance or FP&A at a top tier firm
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of core financial processes
  • Experience with relational database tools and coding (e.g., SQL, SQL Editor for Oracle, DAX, R, Python)
