The Innovation & Consumer Insights Manager GCC is enabling sustainable growth through designing and developing a long-term Innovation Pipeline, as well as supporting the decision making process through strong consumer research insights. This role is instrumental in making the GCC regional strategy possible, with Innovation planned to multiply by 10 in Net Sales from 2019 to 2025.
On the Innovation level, this role is responsible for trends exploration, idea generation, concept and recipe validation and finally value proposition development. On the Consumer Insights level, this role is responsible for performance monitoring, consumer validation, consumer understanding and ad hoc business questions.
  • Innovation – Exploration: Conduct researches on new consumer trends and Food Service trends; participate in innovation fairs; engage proactively with co-packers.
  • Innovation – Generation: Organize Idea generation meetings; look for global / regional synergies; generate concepts with ingredient suppliers; define 3-6 years Innovation Pipeline; connect with start-ups
  • Innovation – Validation: validate winning concepts and packaging propositions; shortlist suppliers samples to validate winning innovation recipes
  • Innovation – Development: deliver final product formulation; final supplier decision and negotiation; deliver final marketing proposition
  • Consumer Insights: supervise and manage existing structure to deliver Performance monitoring (brand health tracking; Innovation tracking; campaign evaluations; product tests), Consumer understanding (U&A, brand stretch, segmentation), Ad hoc business questions research (quant and qual)
Academic Background

Business or Engineering major, BBA minimum

  • Preferably with direct or indirect Consumer Insights / Research experience
  • Hard skills
  • Solid foundation of marketing experience in B2C branded products
  • Experience in Innovation and NPD (New Product Development) field
  • Deep knowledge of Stage Gate processes of managing Innovation funnels
  • Exposure and understanding of Consumer Insights / Research tools and methodologies
  • Proven experience working with multiple agencies of different disciplines – research, packaging, creative, advertising
