Big Lots USA Jobs Description 2022

Supports the administration, accuracy, and compliance of Big Lots’ various benefit plans and leave policies.  Actively participate within the larger benefits team to assist in meeting goals and objectives of each of our benefits plans and related policies. Provides clerical and administrative support for the Benefits Department and provides customer service support to associates and management

1.    Responds to telephone, voicemail, and email inquiries from associates, business partners and outside sources.
2.    Responsible for processing the following: NMSN for Medical Support orders, verifications, and manual insurance payments.
3.    Responsible for the daily distribution of leave of absence requests and fax transmissions for the department.
4.    Responsible for communicating department and company policies.
5.    Recommends system changes, if the system is faulty or no longer meets support requirements.
6.    Participates and helps in the coordination of Benefits events.


1.    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2.    Excellent oral, written, organizational, and time management skills required.
3.    PC experience including Microsoft Office and email required.
4.    Ability to enter information into a computer and file correspondence daily with accuracy required.
5.    Ability to keep information confidential required.
6.    Previous customer service experience preferred.
7.    Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.
8.    Knowledge of OnBase or other document management systems preferred.
9.    Basic understanding of Insurance Benefits, FMLA and ADA regulations is a plus.
