The Finance Assistant, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, contributes to the effectiveness and impact of the programme by supporting the Finance Manager to ensure sound financial, grant management, and administrative practices across the EECA programme. The post holder works with the Finance Manager and Project Managers to ensure that the financial systems and procedures are of high quality and compliant with requirements of BBC Media Action and our donors. 

Main Responsibilities

General Team Finance

Monitor and track invoices received in the EECA team and ensure they are processed promptly and accurately;

Track and reconcile consultants’ invoices

Support Finance Manager in the budgeting and forecasting process Collate and review timesheets from EECA staff

Project Finance

Ensure project budgets are up to date, accurate and available to all;

Assist in compiling donor financial reports, including preparation of supporting documentation

Partner finance

Receive and review partner reports to ensure financial monitoring is up to date and correctly documented;

Support Project Managers in evaluating partner capacities and concluding appropriate contracts;

Safeguarding

Understand and comply with the Safeguarding policy and the staff Code of Conduct.

Participate in relevant mandatory training on Safeguarding and Respect at Work.

Are you the right candidate?

Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in regards of financial data management

Experience of working in the charity sector and knowledge of donor funding

Experience of reviewing project financial reports and reconciling financial data

Our Talent Accounting department has an opportunity for a Royalty Assistant to support the team to meet its royalty and reporting obligations on distribution activities to rights holders. This will involve making payments to a range of recipients including music collection societies and individual rights holders.

The Music Reporting team sits within Talent Accounting and is responsible for reporting and payment obligations due to the main UK Music Collection Societies (PRS, MCPS and PPL) in accordance with BBC Studios’ Blanket agreements. As a small team, we work together across a range of activities, liaising with multiple teams across the BBC as well as externally.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly sales reports for submission to music collection societies.

Assist with invoice validations and raise payments due to the music collection societies.

Assist the Music Royalties Executive with monthly reporting processes and provide information to other teams within Talent Accounting to support the calculation of payments due to producers.

Interpret music rights information and advise collection societies of productions and rights that sit outside of our blanket agreements.

Update and maintain databases with sales and payment data to be able to support business analysis.

Deal with ad-hoc queries and additional reporting requirements.

Are you the right candidate?

BBC Radio Solent is the South’s original local radio station; on air for 50 years and serving an audience passionate about local issues and where they live. We produce the Paul Miller Late Show, one of BBC Local Radio’s biggest late night shows, and now we’re looking for a new assistant producer to work alongside Paul and output this busy and popular show.

Main Responsibilities

Based in our studios in Southampton, you’ll work Monday to Thursday 8pm to 1am. Working with Paul you’ll come up with the main talking topics of the show. You’ll research ideas and be part of creating and maintaining the popular quizzes and features. You’ll also keep the social media side of the show up to date. During the show you’ll answer the phones and ensure the golden callers are put through to speak to Paul.

Are you the right candidate?

You’ll have experience of making great radio. You’ll be someone who has a passion for interactive listener-led conversation. You’ll be buzzing with fun ideas, features and crazy treatments, also you’ll be at home speaking to callers.

In your application you will need to demonstrate your familiarity of the show, a good working knowledge of BBC local radio programming and how you would help Paul continue to develop the show.
