Freelance Lead Designer

Job Objective:

To lead the entire design process and work stream from taking the brief, to defining the design vision for the concept and guiding the design team through developed and technical design phases and the ensuring the design vision is held through delivery of any temporary event structures, and hospitality interior design projects

Key Responsibilities

• To be the clear design lead on allocated projects, defining and holding the creative vision under the guidance of the Design Director.
• Responsible for proposing interior design solutions and ensuring the team stay on track with the design vision.
• Co-ordinate and oversee the entire interior design process from brief taking to development of design concept through technical design phase to onsite execution.
• To be the main point of contact on design for the client, Arena departments and any relevant consultants during all stages of the design and build.
• Ensure effective communication of all design related discussions/decisions with project stakeholders (Client, Design Director, Contractors, Structural Engineer, Local Authorities and Project Management team).
• Meeting with the client and taking and researching a client brief. Liaison with all internal departments to finalise the brief.
• Prepare RFIs to ensure the timely flow of information to and from all parties to facilitate the schedule.
• Input to and monitor the schedule to ensure successful delivery of all design stages.
• Arrange and attend workshops meetings with all project parties to facilitate the co-ordination between disciplines.
• Assist with the resolution of design clashes and conflicts to expediate the design and delivery process. Ensuring all correct parties are informed.
• Review of design packages before submittal to ensure all information is correct.
• Maintenance of design log to maintain proper document control.
• Responsible for Material and finishes selection and material submittals.
• Provide design expertise to the procurement team during the tendering and production phases.
• Recommend value engineering and design modifications where suitable to reduce projects costs and help the team meet commercial objectives.
• Site visits to support delivery team and ensure build is being implemented in alignment with the approved design.
• Management and mentoring of any design staff required for a project where you are design lead.
• Direct line manager for concept design staff on team.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Personal
Skilled interior designer/architect with a passion for modular, sustainable architecture and interior design for hospitality, events or exhibition/retail design.
Quick thinker, with lots of ideas.
Organised, thorough multitasker with a strong eye for detail.
Excellent communicator.
Able to problem solve and respond to a constantly changing situation.
Flexible and fluid attitude, thriving in a dynamic work environment with a willingness and availability to work outside office hours when needed
Technical
Autocad, Sketch up, Excel, InDesign

Education and Experience:

A degree in Architecture/Interior Design is a must.
10+ years’ experience in interior design or interior architecture for event/exhibitions or hospitality projects.

Account Manager – Exhibitions

Job Objective:

Arena’s vision is to supply successful exhibition stands with a high level of customer service and attention to detail.  We do everything in our ability to supply this to a Client and the Account Manager is at the forefront of promoting this attitude.

This person will be primarily responsible for sourcing and servicing of all clients. Acting as the central point of contact for the Client throughout the pitch and win process, they will have overall responsibility for delivering a successful exhibition stand whilst ensuring that all internal procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To handle the entire process from taking the brief, working with the design team, and installing the exhibition stand, supporting the client throughout this process
  • To meet with prospective clients, present the organization’s credentials and take detailed briefs
  • Working with Existing and sourcing new Clients to understand their ongoing requirements and up sell accordingly.
  • Coordinating with the relevant departments for design and costing
  • Agreeing timescales and budgets with clients
  • Monitoring and chasing work progress
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting results when necessary
  • Delivering ideas and final product/services to clients for review
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts
  • Using an existing network of exhibition industry contacts to generate new business leads
  • Achieving and exceeding sales quarterly targets
  • To ensure you have a healthy sales pipeline with a minimum of 20 pending clients throughout
  • Filling in weekly activity reports within a timeframe suitable to management
  • Completion of all internal paperwork to ensure smooth running of office systems.
  • To source new clients through telemarketing, show marketing, networking, and referrals
  • To manage the entire process from taking the brief
  • working with the design team and installing the exhibition stand, supporting the client throughout this process
  • To understand and work closely with technology agencies for specific interactive technology solutions

Required Skills/Abilities:

Personal

  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • A natural flair for building relationships with people on every level.
  • Great communication skills and an ability to think quickly and clearly under pressure.
  • Quick learner with a willing attitude and the ability to respond to a constantly changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Flexible to work longer hours if required

Technical

Computer literate, ability to use Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

Education and Experience:

  • University Graduate or equivalent in any discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in account handling/sales for an exhibition related business
  • Knowledge of the technical details required for Exhibition stands.
  • Driving license essential
