Art Teacher

Job Purpose

To be able to teach in an inspiring, and inclusive way, enabling independence, so that every child makes as much progress as possible; to develop positive working relationships with all members of the school and wider community; and to provide high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.

Responsibilities

Main Duties:

To deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • To be a good communicator at all levels.
  • Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet requirements of the curriculum.
  • Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly.
  • Working with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
  • Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support children’s development.

Specific Duties:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Clear understanding of the Curriculum.
  • Organising the classroom provision and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observing and assessing children in line with school assessments.
  • Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning and curriculum to reflect this.
  • Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Ensure the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum

Assessment and Data:

  • Taking responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of student’s development using Target Tracker.
  • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings

Behaviour Management and Duties

  • Follow the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school’s behavioural policy.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour, which are expected of pupils.
  • Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
  • Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s policy.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
  • Support the organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to student’s achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Run a weekly ECA each term.

 

Qualifications

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in education in Art or Bachelor Degree in equivalent field with PGCE

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in teaching Art (Mandatory)

Job Specifics, Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong teaching experience in English National Curriculum
  • Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Art
  • Experience of teaching A Level Photography would be an advantage
  • Previous experience working with students whom English is not their first language would be an advantage
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children

Job Purpose

Manage the overall day to day running of the payroll function, working together with the Payroll team and finance team.

To continually strive to improve the process working towards operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Main Duties:

  • Mapping a clear, measurable business process for the monthly running of payroll, including clear deadlines for all Aldar Education entities
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, housing, education allowance and other deductions.
  • Establish collaborative relationship with finance stakeholders, get buy in for business process
  • Be the Payroll expert and be responsible for the end to end processing of timely and accurate payroll
  • Maintain the payroll system / HRMS and liaise with HQ and School HR staff to ensure employee data is accurate
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data related to all employees and their attendance and employment
  • Attend monthly meetings with Aldar signatories in order to acquire final payroll sign off in conjunction with Head of People & Culture
  • Assist with the processing of any life insurance claims
  • Coordination of housing allowance payments with HQ housing and finance departments
  • Consider the End of Service process and implement best practice approach
  • Resolve payroll queries and discrepancies by collecting and analysing information, ensuring that HR Officers, Principals and employees are aware of and understand the rationale for their pay
  • Protect payroll operations by maintaining the strictest of confidentiality
  • Implement KPI’s based on business objectives
  • Implement process for Managing and tracking the issuing of bank letters
  • Other duties as reasonably expected
  • Maintain transparent and proactive relationship with banks, auditors and advisers.

Specific Duties:

  • Map processes for managing payments of allowances such as; End of Services, Education Allowance, Annual Flight Payments and any other allowances with make up total annual remuneration of staff salaries
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of all earning and deduction categories, and reconcile all payroll entries and adjustments
  • Coordinate the application of salary increments for various levels of employees in the organisation
  • Ensure best practice approach for the collecting and maintaining of employee bank details in the payroll system / HRMS
  • Coordinate and manage the group life insurance scheme for all employees, ensuring any additions, changes and deletions and processed accordingly and ensuring CO and schools hold records of beneficiary nominations
  • Compile and provide reports for inclusion in the HR board report utilising the HRMS wherever possible
  • Liaise with banks regarding staff accounts and benefits
  • Assist internal and external auditors with collection of various information and records and provide explanations as relevant
  • Take the lead with the company ERP implementation (related module).
  • Manage reconciliation on monthly basis all records

 Qualifications

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or formal qualification in a related field of finance

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 5 years in payroll with 2 – 3 years managerial experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ similar experience

Job Specifics, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good English Communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Highly competent using IT systems, including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Experienced with using employee HRIS & payroll software e.g. Oracle, SAP

Classroom Assistant 

Purpose:

Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the SENCO/Class Teachers/Key Stage Leaders.

Responsibilities:

•    Provide support for individual pupils / groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day and to provide for their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
•    Be pro-active in matters relating to health and safety.
•    Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils / groups of pupils and help monitor their progress.
•    Support pupils with additional support needs e.g. emotional and behavioural difficulties and help to develop their social skills.
•    Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records, attendance etc.
•    Prepare and present displays of pupils’ work.
•    Support class teachers in photocopying, laminating, scanning and other tasks in order to support teaching.
•    Support the aims of the school; comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation, and school policies.
•    Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
•    Attend team and staff meetings as required.
•    Prepare materials and resources as required to facilitate effective learning.
•    To help promote independent learning and build pupils’ motivation and self-esteem.
